Twitter Launches Free “Twitter 101 for Business” Guide

Twitter is undoubtedly a powerful force when it comes to marketing your business. There have been countless case studies of Mom & Pop (and even big brand) stores who can actually thank Twitter for being in the black. Sure, it works better for some industries over others, but the point is that Twitter is an amazingly effective (and free) way to build a highly targeted audience. In this day and age, the last thing business owners should consider is cutting marketing efforts – especially web 2.0 marketing.

Plenty of social media “experts” out there have released Twitter guides that cater specifically to small businesses (usually in exchange for signing up to their list that they later use to bombard you with other offers), or even for a small (and sometimes large) fee. There’s nothing wrong with this, but it’s easy for business owners to become slightly confused on who to trust and spend money on for accurate Twitter marketing tips.

A lot of the confusion can be laid to rest now that the horse’s mouth has opened. Twitter released a very impressive “Twitter 101 for Business” guide that they just announced on their blog a few hours ago.

From the blog article:

“Twitter 101 is a suite of web pages that explains our findings. There is also a downloadable slideshow available as a PDF that’s more of an overview which folks can use to give presentations within larger organizations to teach others about Twitter. We’re focused on enhancing value across Twitter in general—these documents are just a first step.”

So there you go – nothing beats free, and from my initial overview, this looks like a very fundamental and thorough guide. If you’re a small business owner looking to take advantage of social media channels like Twitter, this is probably something you need to go check out right away.
