In today’s day and age you need a social media strategy. Social media websites are the new fad and new ones seem to be popping up all the time. The average
erson who frequents these sites will spend 2 hours a day surfing on them. Are you marketing to this large segment of these internet savvy surfers? Well you definitely should be and we’re going to show you how.

If you take a survey of the highest traffic websites, you will find Google at the very top. However, Facebook is the second most visited site in the world. Twitter and Myspace are also in the top twenty of the most visited websites. As a small or large business, this marketing opportunity is not to be missed.

Let’s get started on your new social media strategy. First you need to decide which social media networks to join. Maybe you want to join them all? If you start out with a few, you can add more later on if you have the resources. After you have joined all the ones you care to join, what is the next step?

By registering for all of the social media sites you have chosen, you now have the ability to place some new buttons on your website. Your clients, friends, and potential clients will now be able to add your website to their favorite social network sites.

When you come across a website that you are really interested in, you don’t want to forget about it. If you add that favorite website to your favorites in your browser, you may forget about it. But by following the site on your social network, you can get constant updates from this business.

Which comes to the next part of this strategy; update regularly. Once you have followers, give them what they want. Maybe it’s the new sale that just came out, or the news on an upcoming new product. Let them know about it. They want to hear from you or they would not have added you as a friend to begin with.

Some social media websites have the ability to form groups and discussions. To keep the client or customer coming back for more, getting to know them better in group setting can be important. This is an important way to get valuable feedback from your clients.

Social Media is also a great place to advertise if you have the money. But if you don’t have the extra cash for ads, you can follow the tips we have given you and have a great start to your social media strategy.
