The differences between Myspace and Facebook may seem hard to discover initially, but they are actually rather stark. Though both are social networking sites, a basic examination of one’s profile on Myspace versus that same profile on Facebook will usually reveal distinct differences in the interface of the two systems.
1) Myspace allows for music uploads. Anyone can upload music to Myspace, whether it is music that they created themselves or others. Myspace is often utilized by even the world’s most popular musicians as a way of reaching out to a broader audience. However, Myspace is also used as a way for a young artist to launch themselves. For example, Tila Tequila, a well-known television star and musician began her career on Myspace. She simply made so many friends, that television producers eventually decided to give her a show. Facebook lacks that kind of interface capability. In fact, on Facebook, there is not any sound availability whatsoever.
2) Myspace allows for a greater degree of background customization. With Myspace, a user is allowed to customize a background into almost anything, which often causes a slowdown in loading time. By comparison, Facebook users all access the same Facebook interface. For example, a main picture is loaded to the top left corner of the screen and the main identification information is loaded in the center.
3) Myspace places fewer content restrictions. While Facebook users are restricted from uploading “lewd” materials and are also restricted from using certain “curse” words, Myspace users face little or no such restriction. For example, conversations about and links to pornographic materials on Myspace go largely unnoticed, whereas similar conversations or materials on Facebook could garner a user a suspension.
4) Facebook has many more independent applications than Myspace. For example, users on Facebook cannot only send “messages” and write “comments” back and forth on each other’s main boards, but can also organize a reading list or “poke” a friend.
5) Facebook has a greater number of users that Myspace, and is significantly more popular overall than Myspace in terms of how frequently Facebook users visit the main site.
6) The general base of users of Myspace is significantly younger than the general base of users of Facebook. Myspace users are often teenagers, and the intimacy with which some people customize their pages have led some to consider Myspace more of a “hook-up” site. By comparison, Facebook has a much more mature audience, with many more members having professional careers. For example, it is not unusual for Facebook members to disable their message boards entirely, instead providing only the essential information about where they were education and currently work.
7) Facebook is a more secure website than Myspace. Myspace tends to assume that its users are more focused on self-expression than on networking. One way in which this is evident is that the default privacy settings for a Myspace account are public. That is, anyone can view a Myspace account, whereas Facebook account viewing is limited to a users list of “friends.”

Thankyou for this interesting piece. I look forward to more like it in the future. Cheers again
I’ve to admit, I’ve been an enormous Venture Natal/Kinect sceptic ever because it was introduced with that sham Milo walkthrough and an awful lot of hyperbole. I have been attempting to keep an open mind but the various rumours which have circulated about area, lighting and multiplayer issues have been a trigger for concern. The advertising and marketing decision that Microsoft took to place this within the arms of mainstream journalists and celebrities moderately than anybody who truly has experience and expertise writing about gaming was extraordinarily worrying.
